Philippine Rhinoplasty

What are the characteristics of Philippine or Filipino Nose?  Most Filipinos have relatively low dorsum, bulbous tip and thick skin. These are the most common complaints or issues being addressed during the rhinoplasty surgery. The goals of the surgery include dorsal augmentation with ePTFE implant, silicon implant or the use of autologous tissue like rib or ear cartilage. Other goals include making a prominent tip by placing an ear cartilage and columellar lengthening with the use of strut graft from the ear. Alarplasty should be done with caution because Filipinos tend to have suboptimal scar development especially in males with thick and oily skin. For more information, please consult your surgeon.
